Background:
Noted Harvard economist Dr. Jeffrey Sachs recently addressed the subject of globalization's impact on developing countries in a lecture sponsored by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA) and the Elliott School of International Affairs. This lecture is relevant to the globalization discussion prominently highlighted by the Seattle WTO meeting and the recent World Bank/IMF Washington meetings. The publication presenting the lecture is introduced by JAMA President Takao Suzuki stating that, "Globalization has made headlines recently, but for the 13 members of JAMA, globalization is not a newspaper headline or lead story. It's a way of life."
