Harvard Professor Jeffrey Sachs to Speak on the Seattle Ministerial's Impact on Globalization at GW's Elliott School on February 15

EVENT
The George Washington University's Elliott School of International Affairs will host Jeffrey Sachs, director of the Harvard Institute for International Development and the Center for International Development. Professor Sachs will deliver a speech entitled "Making Globalization Work: Reflections After the Flare-up in Seattle."

Background:
Jeffrey Sachs is the director of the Harvard Institute for International Development and the Center for International Development, the Galen L. Stone Professor of International Trade at Harvard University and a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research. Sachs serves as an economic advisor to several governments in Latin America, Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union, Africa and Asia. Sachs is the recipient of many awards and honors, including membership in the Harvard Society of Fellows, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the Fellows of the World Econometric Society. He received an Honorary Degree from St. Gallen University in Switzerland and Lingnan College in Hong Kong. In September 1991 he was honored with the Frank E. Seidman Award in Political Economy.
