Investment: Japanese Production and Investments in the U.S.

Cumulative investment surpasses $13 billion in the Japanese automakers' U.S. auto plants and auto parts manufacturing operations. Japanese production in the U.S. totaled 2.3 million vehicles in 1997. Japanese auto plants in the U.S. currently employ more than 41,000 employees.
