Purchases of U.S. Auto Parts Up More Than $3 Billion in One Year
The value of purchases of U.S.-made parts by Japanese automakers in fiscal 1998 (April 1998-March 1999) posted a year-on-year rise of 13.5% to hit $28.31 billion. This figure represents more than an eleven-fold increase over their purchases of $2.49 billion twelve years ago in fiscal 1986.
