![]() Overview Objectives Activities |
Objectives JAMA's goals are to encourage the development and progress of the motor vehicle industry and contribute to the prosperity and well-being of the communal population, worldwide. Since the early 1980s, Japanese motor vehicle manufacturers have been making significant investments abroad in plants and equipment, in tandem with efforts to integrate local production into the domestic economics of host countries to the greatest extent possible. In addition to the beneficial effects of the Japanese vehicle manufacturers' investments in the economies and automotive industries of host countries, their overseas subsidiaries provide support for a variety of social, cultural, and educational programs, in their local communities and nationwide. As they expand and integrate their worldwide activities, Japanese vehicle manufacturers are striving to achieve acceptance as valued members of the societies in which they operate. At the same time, they are committed to the establishment and maintenance of constructive relationships with the other members of the community of nations. They have proposed and engage in various action programs for international cooperation, with the objective of amplifying their efforts towards the promotion of imports to Japan, along with the enhancement of global trade. Today, in addition to performance and reliability, motor vehicle users are expecting increased environmental and safety considerations. In response to these challenges, Japanese motor vehicle manufacturers have taken advantage of and are applying recent developments in the field of electronics as well as engaging in intensive research and development of promising new materials and alternative-energy vehicles. JAMA has endeavored to ensure that motor vehicles and automotive technologies are compatible with both society and the environment. |
